Un-answered grievances

Life is getting harder in Sg. Challenges is always your friend when you are in sg. Everyday, people face new problems and obviously the old and unsettled cases which lie peacefully on the table. As I observe, people always busying meeting deadline, sales targets and so on so fore. Adult students like me always on the move looking for new opportunities which are little to available. Government creates trouble too.
I am not sure if sg is going to be another Hong Kong where people take up multiple jobs just to make both ends meet. In Sg, it’s always the same trend. After a victorious winning… walkovers... opps… Singaporeans support me and my government!! The government announces good news and follows by a lot of noises which irritate me a lot. The date of announcement on the increment of goods or services will soon due after the election. Okie the replies go on… Bus fare increased, next taxi fare increased, next, hmmm… time for carrot and stick treatment… there are plans for civil servant salary to be adjusted. Yes good news but too bad none of my business. Okay, adjustments GST to 7%. Ouch what a hard pinch on the butt. Feel the pain? Hmm… Look like the government thinks that they still can squeeze some juice out of me.
Ha ha government policies are to encourage people to have more babies. Good, for Singaporeans. Too bad there are too many buts that stop me from supporting the government policy. GST is going to go up soon so it will be 2% more expensive to have babies and in future 5%. Another but generated.
Helping the needy is a good intention. Why are there extra cash for international commitment when Sg had problem helping her people? Why should Singaporeans help Singaporean when Sg is able to help her people? Of course, Singaporean must help each other out but I don’t think there is a need for the government to be a charity man where there are so many charitable organisations around. I believe Sg can generate enough revenue to help her people.
How do RICH manifest in SG? Please don’t decorate the city’s roads with colour lighting. This investment can go to the needy. Here are whole lots of examples that show signs of RICH. Have a tour in mr brown.com website.
Thus, this question: corporate tax vs needy, at both ends of the scale, which is heavier? Let the SG government to answer. - Ting Siong

Errmmmm Just say that I'm not such a big fans of PAP. But to tell the truth, SG is not doing that bad... After going to Thailand, I find that they really have a really hard time there... Imagine monthly pay is under 300 - 500 SGD n 1 meal cost ard $1++ (roadside store).... N they r paying 7% VAT (like GST) since dunnoe when.... Singaporean earning ard 4x the money n only pays 2x - 3x more on the food.... actually most stuff is only 2x (Hawker Center) more exp in Singapore than thailand.... unless it is imported, then it will be the same... So i find that Singapore 7% is not tat bad..... i think we shouldn't make such a big fuss out of it when someone else who are doing worse than us somewhere else in other parts of the world is doing the same, if not worse. (I heard some European country is paying ard 15% - 20% of SG GST equivalent tax.)

Yes it is true but We should compare like to like. Apple to apple, orange to orange. when you earn more, you ure pay more. When you earn less, you sure pay less. Situation in Sg govt is now taking new action in the expense of the poor. Sometime I do wonder why the guy, who committed suicide, left his family with only afew bucks for survival. Although it is a irresponsible act, it sure gave PAP a tight slap on the face.

Errrmm I think that they commit suicide, not becos PAP took their money...... Maybe the Stock broking firm did... Or lost money to Loanshark... i wouldn't noe... I was told never to assume... Anw... In Singapore, around 80% is covered by insurance, but in thailand only 15% (these 15% in facr, is all well to do ppl.... a statistics from an insurance agent who happens to be my cousin in thailand)... Not because they dun want to protect themselves, or the plans here are super unaffordable (They got very cheap plans)... its becos they are poor... so every single baht they earn counts.... Insurance is just 1 of those many examples of what Singaporean think of as an essentials, but to many thai, a luxury... there are many more examples... Like educations, or transportation, Housing etc. I am not saying that they dun have it here... but the perceptions of these things is very different to ppl here than to Singapore... To thais, as long as it requires money, it is a luxury..
